Fund Raisers
We are a self-supporting organization. We strive to keep participation costs to a minimum. Each year we have a multitude of fund raising activities, with our main fund raiser being the annual Crab Feed.
Our inaugural crab feed was held in January of 2001. Each year we sell 500 tickets and provide "all-you-can-eat" crab, pasta, salad, and garlic bread. Each of our teams is required to sell their portion of tickets, provide $250 worth of raffle prizes ($1,000-$1,500 worth of raffle prizes) and the players serve the meal to our guests. We provide a DJ and there is dancing along with a full service bar. We keep our ticket prices low and always provide excellent raffle prizes, ensuring a sell out of tickets each year.
Another way we raise funds for our program is by hosting tournaments. Each year we host a tournament in June and one in August. This not only benefits our program but the sport of girls fastpitch as a whole due to our high quality events. Our parents are dedicated and we stay on schedule, have plenty of umpires, keep our fields nicely groomed, provide attractive trophies and medals, and as a result we have many teams that return year after year.
Each year we will have smaller scale fund raisers with Dough-to-Go being a crowd favorite. Teams are invited to sell cookie dough and other delectables on an "as-necessary" basis to raise the money necessary for a team to have an eventful season.
We are always willing to accept cash donations from people and businesses who want to support our organization. Our aggressive fund raising and cost containment keeps our participation costs at a level much lower than similar organizations. A typical player fee with one of our teams is between $100 and $350 while many organizations start around $750. We want every able-bodied girl with a desire to play tournament ball to have a chance to do so. If you agree and would like to help please consider making a tax deductible donation. All donations are greatly appreciated and your donation might change the life of a young lady in our community.
